Call Drops Toll Free Number
Government is planning to start a Call Drops Toll Free Number ‘1955’ for getting a feedback from all telecom subscribers on call drops. This will be mandatory for all telecom operators for both local and STD calling.
According to the letter by the telecom operators department in the last week of November 2016 the ‘1955’ number is for Report Call Drops and this number has been allotted for IVRS system on call drops.
Now the IVRS system will have to give a pre-defined Caller Line Identification (CLI) to the subscribers with the help of this call drop toll free number. To know more details regarding this Complaint Helpline Number go through the below given information.

Toll Free Number of Call Drops – 1955 For IVRS
It is informed by the Government to all the telecom operators that not to charges any integration, maintenance, or any other operational fee from MTNL.
An Official Source Said
“Short code 1955 has been allotted for IVRS system on call drop,”
Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has been directed to configure this short code. It has been told to all Telecom operators that not to charge any integration, maintenance, operational fee from MTNL.
Also there is news that Manoj Sinha who is the telecom minister, will launch the service. No further details have been disclosed till now; if any information will be arrived we will update you.
After having contact with the industry body, Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) said that there is a need to sought out more technical clarifications from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on routing, charges etc. to get the Call Drops Toll Free Number to be implemented i.e. 1955 for IVRS

“The response is awaited. The industry remains committed towards addressing the issue of call drops and is continuously working shoulder to shoulder with the government, enhancing both investment and infrastructure,” COAI Director General Rajan S Mathews said.
